Monique Mukuna Mutombo (born 11 February 1974) is a Congolese politician. She is the first woman to declare her candidacy for the 2016 presidential election.

MONIQUE MUKUNA MUTOMBO was born February 11, 1974 in the mining town of Kolwezi, Katanga, Democratic Republic of Congo, DRC. Mother of two children. His father is a native of Kasai - Western, of the tribe of Bakua Ndolo. And his mother, a native of East Kasai, the tribe of Bakua Mulumba Bakua Tshileu.
From a family of 11 children, 3 boys and 8 girls, she is the eldest of the girls. She received her primary and secondary education in his hometown, Kolwezi, in Ukweli Institute, before migrating with his family, Lubumbashi in 1994, due to tribal unrest between from the province and from many Kasaians for work in the mines of the Copperbelt province.
She quit her high school to Ukweli institute in 1993 in the middle of the fifth year literary. His family, like many others from Kasai, were driven from the city and some killed. Despite this disruption of school, she decided to attend the baccalaureate a year later, as an autodidact in Lubumbashi, the main city of the province and the country's economic capital. She received her high school diploma in 1994 in Lubumbashi.
In 2002, already at-home mom with two children, she obtained her degree in the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences, Department of Applied Economics, Financial Management option at the Graduate Institute of Congo, Lubumbashi.
Monique Mukuna Mutombo who did not stop to learn, is currently applying for a PhD at the University of Liverpool in England and did a management course in 2010 in a South African medical equipment company (SA Heath care), in Capetown in South Africa. Always striving to improve her managerial capacities, she continues to specialize in obtaining an "impact investing" certificate, thanks to the World Bank program at ESSEC Business School and another certificate in "visionary leadership" at the University of Michigan in the United States. Monique MUKUNA MUTOMBO began his professional life at 19 years after getting her high school certificate.
In 1999, she was combining with her studies, worked as a cashier in general trading stores, Tri-stars in Lubumbashi. She left a simple cashier after 2 months of service in three main cashier stores that had the group. In 2005, with a lawyer as a partner, she created a non-governmental NGOs AREFEM, Action for Reintegration of Marginalized Women and Children, in which she is the president , in Lubumbashi.
In this situation, she organizes with private sponsors and United Nations monitoring of prison conditions for women in the central prison of Kasapa and organizes events with street children to occupy and educate them.
Then for 2 years, from 2004 to 2006, she in turn was responsible for the registration of voters and candidates, in charge of the conduct of elections, in charge of national and international observers to the Lubumbashi liaison office, Katanga. For personal reasons, she moved to Tanzania which shares Lake Tanganyika with the DRC at the end of 2010 after a training stay in South Africa. She will be responsible for finding work, study projects and be in contact with various government of the Central Africa, Eastern and Zambia.
In this context, she participated in the design and development of various projects in the commercialization of cassiterite, copper and rare earths. A project with artisans coltan in northern Tanzania, Bukoba, in the old mine of the state of Kyerwa region in Kagera allowed him to organize in unions to find national multi capable of help in equipment and to offer them a better purchase price of their product.
Today she is the representative in 11 countries (Kenya, Zambia, Swaziland, Mozambique, Malawi Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda and Uganda), National Multi, Antaser Africa bvba, based in Antwerp, Belgium. Monique MUKUNA MUTOMBO declared her candidacy in March 10, 2016 at the Press Club of Paris at the Hotel Pullman. She is the first woman to have declared for the presidency of his country for the 2016 presidential elections.
Monique MUKUNA participated as a speaker at the Cop21 LAB (Land of African Business) at the round table: "Africa in the feminine." In 2015, the Brazzaville Magazine chose him as one of the 50 most influential women of the two banks.
